Jason Cobey
Board Chair
Jason is a proud member of the K’ómoks First Nation and father of two. Jason was asked to take on the KEDC Board Chair position in 2023.
For the past 25 years, Jason has been in the education field as a teacher and administrator. He is currently employed with Comox Valley School District #71 as Principal of Queneesh Elementary School. Previously, he has been a school administrator at Miracle Beach Elementary, Vanier Secondary, Boston Bar Community Elementary/Secondary School and Bella Bella Community School.
Jason holds a Master of Education in Leadership Studies from the University of Victoria as well as a Bachelor of Education from Malaspina College University (Vancouver Island University).
Jason has been an active member of the KFN Education committee. He is currently a Trustee for the Education Trust and a member of the KFN Finance and Audit Committee (FAC).
He advocates for the education of our youth through his work locally as President of the Comox Valley Principals and Vice Principals Association (CVPVPA), as well provincially through his work on numerous committees with the BC Principals and Vice Principals Association (BCPVPA).
