Nicole Rempel (Malidi) is the daughter of Kelly Davis and Daniel Rempel, and a proud member of the Frank and Mitchell families: Sathloot, Säsitla, and Pentlatch. Raised on the K’ómoks Reserve, she has dedicated much of her career to serving K’ómoks First Nation. First elected as Chief in 2017, she is now in her fourth term and has held key portfolios including Governance, Finance, Language and Culture, Forestry, Infrastructure, and Communications.
Nicole previously helped write the KFN Land Code while studying Indigenous Peoples Land and Resource Management at the University of Saskatchewan. She has served as a parliamentary witness and spoken nationally on Indigenous Law. Her professional experience includes work with the BC Ministries of Forestry and Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation as a Senior Negotiations Analyst.
A mother of two, Nicole enjoys cooking, fishing, traveling, camping, and exploring the Island. She is passionate about K’ómoks language, culture, and cedar weaving, and remains committed to lifelong learning. Nicole brings strong leadership, cultural grounding, and a vision for a bright future for all KFN members.
